Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible. How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you? How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain.' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect! We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet... We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.. My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.
Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to......not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting? Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you. Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butter fly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask ' How are you?' Do you hear the reply? When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die?

Just call to say 'Hi? When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away..... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over. It's National Friendship Week.. Show your friends how much you care.

Happy New Year to Everyone. There's something wonderful about a new year starting. Its kinda like getting saved, every thing is fresh and new and you can start all over again. Several years ago, I heard someone say that you should take several weeks to decide on what your resolutions should be. hmmmmmm.... i don't know if it works or not but i try to put a lot of thought in what i want to accomplish. More often than, not i read back and find i haven't accomplish much. i guess a little is more than i would of accomplished by not trying at all.

One thing i do want to do more of this year is promoting my business with "Close to my Heart" . I'm currently working on some workshops and a spring idea book party. If there is anything you would be interested in seeing or doing, Please let me know.

Time for Updating

I am a slacker that's all I can say about me. Life has been busy and although that's no excuse its the only thing I can say. What has been going on. My new grand baby arrived July 18th. She is adorable. I could go on and on about her but that would bore most everyone. I've been trying to get my "Close to my Heart" business up and running. I went to convention in July, had a great time learning lots of new stuff. Went to regional in Detroit, learned even more. Got to stay the weekend with Abby and Todd, we had a great time. I helped her make some curtains for her office. I must say they turned out cute. Work at the mission is finally getting back to normal with the audit done and over with for another year.

I 'm having my first card workshop in a couple weeks. any one wanting to work on Christmas cards, we are making 25 that day with supplies to make 25 more now or later. My friend from California is coming down in a couple of weeks so hip hip hooray for vacation.

This is Rachel and Mikes 5th wedding anniversity. They usually do something or go somewhere special. But not this year. Rachel is Expecting a bundle of joy in another 9 days. she has the smackdown on her to stay inactive and keep her feet up. So they are on there way to Indy for Dinner. Congraduations! Next year you can go somewhere and i can Babysit, Isabella!!!

Thanks to everyone that attended my Open House. It was good talking to each of you. My daughter made us the best snacks when we was at her house. hmmmmmmm i 'm still thinking about them. Thanks Rachel. I have a surprice for you.
For those of you i over charged on shipping, i will be getting that back to you next week when the orders come in. i didn't realize i didn't know how it was calculated until the weekend before. Then my sponsor had a expo that weekend, lost my cell number and didn't get back to me until Wednesday. Sorry Kelly, Karen, Bari and Linda.
If you didn't make the open house, Please let me know if you'd like to see or buy a book. I have some spring ones left and the new ones should be here next week. We have some incredible stuff. I do need to book some gatherings, i have one so far. So if you don't have the money for all you want, this is a good way to earn free product. I entering the 21st century. Blogging. I love reading and looking at pictures from other people and their blogs. Now I'm doing it. Hurrah for me. i also wanted to have a spot to advertise my business. lol... Its more like making my hobby support itself. I just started selling "Close to My Heart" scrapbook and stamping supplies.
